Google Provides More Platform Info
Google today provided more information about their new platform for cell phones. They are looking to partner with the Open Handset Alliance (OHA). The organization is a series of cell phone parts organizations that have come together to develop such products. Google feels they will use a Linux version of the operating system (their reasoning is that it will provide a more desktop like application instead of Mobile OS or Palm). The system can be built for any type of handheld due to Linux’s changeability. The software will be prepared next week and the platform will be all over cell phones by the end of 2008. I think this is definitely a plus for anyone who loves hand helds but hates the functionality of the existing systems. I think Google is on the right track
