Linux…on your cell phone

It may have sounded far fetched but understand that the Linux OS can be made small (much smaller than windows) in order to fit anywhere it can reside.  New stories indicate that in the next 5 years it will be a big player on the cell phone world.  Linux is built to support longer term plans with chip manufacturers.  it also helps that there are so many updates on Linux OS that can help users of PDA phones, for example.  The convergence of usage helps Linux with their broad numbers.  however, there are 235 patents that Linux currently infringes on and those would need to be cleared before they become a huge player in the mobile world.  I will be honest, I would be so happy with a mobile phone that has a full fledged version of FireFox.  I would be a very happy man once that happens.
